I used
Hotwire to book a 2 star hotel in the Poconos and was given this awful, rundown and dirty dump, that at best would be considered ½ star. My hotel room had a fowl smell and stains on the floor and walls, the smoke detector was broken. As for the bathroom, the toilet overflowed, and there
mold and mildew in shower stall (unusable), plus shower dripped all night. Not that I would have used it but the so called heated pool was green. They also use the motel for section 8 housing. I should have walked away when they gave me towels when I checked in. No heat or blankets, we slept in our cloths. Keep away from the Mount Pocono Motel. I think it is amazing that the board of Health does not do something about it. The couple in the room next door to us was also taken in by
Orbitz who also book this dump as a 2 star hotel. So take my advice keep away from and don’t use
Hotwire or
Orbitz to book a hotel, they are disreputable and misleading and will book you into a rat holes like this place. Don’t take my word for it look up this hotel and ask yourself if you would stay there and does it deserves to be rated and sold to
unsuspecting consumers as 2 star accommodation.

Don't use Hotwire or Expedia they are sisters and both are devious... You cannot rely on their hotel ratings and they will leave you stranded...SantaFe hotel was a rat hole (three stars) and rundown, big stains on the carpet. Ratty steel stairs to the second floor, A/C didn't work, Clothes washer broken, Rude staff, dirth slow draining tub, smelly, holes in the curtains need I say more?? Car rentals more that a hundred bucks more that quoted and then wanted to charge me nearly $700 bucks more for a noe way rental of 14 miles away. Even when you call the main office and complain... They have some lacky call you back 'cause they are too busy (or don't have the kahonies).

I've owned a travel business for the past 15yrs and have never sold a 2 star hotel/motel to anyone. They're not recomendable. try to stick to a 3 to 4 star next time. I sell the Caribbean mostly and we never offer a 2 star.
