Hotwire - Plan delayed, would not lower rate charged on Car because had for fewer days

I rented vehicle via Hotwire for 3 days (actually 52 hours, which to all rental companies is 3 days). So be it, that's the way it is.
However, my flight was delayed by 6 hours and I ended up having rented the vehicle for just under 48 hours.
In fact I reached out to Hotwire (via chat function) to tell them I would be late to assure car rental would not be cancelled because of delayed flight. Tried to call Hotwire during my trip to tell them I would have car for only 48 hours but could not get through. After trip, I called customer service to resolve. They would do nothing for me, a customer who has used them 20+ times over the last 5+ years.
Therefore -- AM NEVER GOING TO RENTING ANYTHING THROUGH HOTWIRE AGAIN !! Jeez, send a guy a $50 coupon or something !
To keep the customer relationship ! Terrible customer serivce and a lost customer forwever.
User's recommendation: NEVER USE AGAIN.
Monetary Loss: $50.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.
Hotwire Pros: Ease of use.
Hotwire Cons: Poor customer service, No customer retention policy, No allowance for delayed flight, Deceitful.
