On Sept 16th, I was to pick up a car in Montgomery, Al. After arriving from Dallas, there were no cars available.
Hotwire stranded many individuals arriving into this airport thinking we were picking up cars. My problem is that Hotwire will not refund my $184.56. I have made 2 reports already. Only to be told that the car was available, I just didn't pick it up.
Totally untrue, there were no cars available and I have employees at the Montgomery airport who will also state this to be true. Shekinah Bledsoe is the branch rental manager in Montgomery. Hotwire has denied my payment on both claims. Why should I pay for a car that wasn't available for pickup.
I had to pay a young man (James) to drop me off at another location. This is terrible customer service. Cade ID # 300********. Marlons agent ID is 1746.
On Sept 18th, I spoke with Mia reference ticket # 307****. Doreen B sent me a email on Sept 21st stating the vehicle was available. NO IT WAS NOT. Talk to the employees and management working Sept 16th, 2022 in Montgomery, Al.
I cannot tell you how pissed I am. I will not let this matter go. I want my card refunded.
National confirmation #144213**** on Sept 16th, 2022. I will be sending out additional emails today and then taking the matter to social media.
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Do not use Hotwire for car rentals. Reserve directly thru the rental car agency. Much easier to contact and you get a warm body on the phone. Haywire is shady as ***

callll rental agencies directcacai booked a vacation in june for a december get away. after booking a rent a car totalling 400 for a economy car for a week, i see in my email that this is a no cancelation booking.
a month later I have a fall and rip my rotater cuff in 3 places. surgeon says it needs surgery and a long recovery time. this was supposed to be a hiking destinantion. so needless to say we decide to cancel now instead of waiting for the last minute.
I am told that for medical issues I need to wait until the last minute (2 weeks) prior to scheduled trip and they might give me a credit to use in the future! I will call enterprise directly from this time forward and hot wire can kiss my lilly white$#%^&!

Three times I've been denied the use of my Hot Dollars. They were given to me for a Covid related cancelation which BTW I am thankful for Hotwires help with that.
Warning, they can only be used while booking a "Hot rate" deal, that's the blind bookings. I found that out the hard way. DENIED! The next time I did choose a Hot rate deal in order to use them.
However I kept waiting for a button to pop up as I was told, would "Use Hot Dollars" Eventually we were booked and to the point of no return. Guess what? NO BUTTON! I called support, the phone staff is very polite but unfortunately, DENIED.
Anyone with authority is hiding behind the poor front liners. I was offered a cancellation and an adjusted refund of, wait for it, MORE HOT DOLLARS. My response was "what good is that, they can't be redeemed"? They're useless.
I asked support what I did wrong this time, I was told I should have logged out and back in, in order to update my profile. Sounds like a poor excuse for a Website to me, not my problem.
Anyway we were happy with the outcome of the Hot Deal and didn't want to take the chance of cancelling and rebooking with no guarantee of getting the same property so we just swallowed our pride and lived and learned. We'll give it one more go with Hotwire and hopefully use up our Hot Dollars, after that, never again.

They cancelled my London reservation the day of travel with no further info
I had to call 5 different numbers and talk to 7 different people to find out what happened. They kept telling me I had no reservation on file, even though I had hotwire confirmations in multiple emails and I could find my reservation on their website.
The email confirmations and associated number they kept telling me were not valid. Finally I got through to someone that found me in their system, and they acted like they were doing me a favor to offer a full refund. I booked this 2 months in advance.
They cancelled the day of travel. I wasted 2 hours of stress on the phone, when I wanted to be packing!

support@***.com does not work. They reply that you can call or chat with an agent but that they will not respond to emails.
My flight was delayed and I arrived at the Sonesta Select Hotel at a little before midnight. After waiting in line for 25 minutes to check in, I was informed that they did not have a reservation for me and that they had no rooms available. I called Hotwire and they confirmed this with the hotel and said they would process a refund. I am in a city that I am not familiar with, it is now 12:45 AM and I have no place to stay and no idea what neighborhoods are safe and what are not.
AND I ended up having to pay DOUBLE what I booked the hotel for which I cannot afford! There should have been more help available for me.
There should have been an offer to find me a nearby hotel and have me charged the same amount as this was either a Hotwire error or an error at the hotel that I booked through Hotwire. No one should be left stranded in the middle of the night in an unfamiliar city ever!
